Jump

As we drift towards the end of another year and hold hope in our

hearts for the future to come.

Some would say the year has gone by like sand through an hourglass. While others would say it’s been more like dust that slowly settles on your furniture over time.

During the last 2 weeks, I have been inundated with emails, messages, and conversations that all say the same thing - "bring on the New Year" or "this year has been one hell of a ride, and I’m ready to get off". Some of us sit in hope, carefully planning out New Year resolutions and building expectations on the unknown. While others of us continue our planning, scheduling dates and searching through the “lost and found” basket of our minds.

Wherever you have found yourself after this year, it makes no difference to your body...only in your mind. Some of you have walked the cliff tops of your emotions, trekked the mountains of your mind, and stood alone in the dark endless tunnel of fear. Meanwhile, others have danced along the cloud tops, sung through the vast fields with breath, and bathed in the warm waterfalls of your heart.

When life has tested every part of your being, dragged your soul through your muddy past, created a deep untrust in the pit of your belly, leaving you look at the long hallway of doors to open. Confused!

Jump. There is no other way.

The only way is to step forward, the rest will appear.

You will be met with the expanded version of you, and sometimes an old lesson or two. Everything is what you make of it. We can choose to sip and savour each moment, revel in the knowledge we have received, hold love in our hearts that we were born with, or we can be pulled down by the binds and constraints of our minds.

No matter what you feel about yourself, you are enough, and there is not one person in the world that can take that away from you.

Life is short, break the rules, forgive quickly, kiss slowly, love truly, laugh uncontrollably, and never regret anything that made you smile. Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things you didn’t do than by the ones you did. So, throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover.
