At this years 200hr Yoga Teacher Training I observed myself as we sat down to begin our first round of final exams.
I’d been up since 3am in the morning, my jaw was clenched, my armpits were sweaty and I had butterflies in my belly. Yep, you guessed it! I was nervous for the teacher trainers. As we sat down, the first teacher handed in there class plan, you could feel the excitement in the room, nervous smiles all round, and that good old vibe when everyone rally's together, our little yoga family.
I sat quietly with myself at the back of the shala observing and watching everyone moving about getting themselves ready for there finals. It’s there time to fly after all! This teaching bizo is something that I’ve been doing for years. I watch so many teachers become complacent and probably even myself from time to time, but at this very moment on teacher trainings is the very thing, that not only reminds me but refuels my love, integrity, and down right passion for the life of yoga!
As the shala is taken over by the teachers in waiting I felt myself finally for the first time that morning, take a deep breath in, and as the first words were spoken I heard myself breathe out, my eyes well with tears as each teacher takes the shala, my chest feels like it's going to implode from the love of these humans on their journey, as I watch each of them stand up from a little stumble, breathe through their frustration's and laugh at the mishaps.
This 200hr Yoga Teacher Training is not aimed for you to stay in your comfort zone, imagine we are grown adults now making a conscious decision to dive in deep, not to a hobby, not to a desire but into ourselves, the biggest journey of all. We literally re-wire our personal patterns and habitual quirks, while eating, sleeping, & breathing yoga... It’s an absolutely amazing experience and something that as a facilitator I am humbled by what I see, do, and am a part of, year after year. I always shed a tear or three at the final exams on every yoga teacher training, because I am in awe of the transformation I witness in every single human being.
